They are not like us, their thought processes are fundamentally different. I would go as far as to say that their lack of critical thinking has a basis in genetics. It doesn't matter if you corner them with an irrefutable argument, they are oblivious to it. Just accept that we are different. People have predicted that humanity will continue to evolve into two-tiers and I wouldn't be at all surprised if "faith" is the cornerstone of our differences in the future.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09112324751599658913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141007497786298916.post-10122066954447031982009-04-24T15:24:00.000-04:002009-04-24T15:24:00.000-04:00"Materialist atheism says we are just a collection..."Materialist atheism says we are just a collection of chemicals. It has no answer whatsoever to the question of how we should be capable of love or heroism or poetry if we are simply animated pieces of meat"
This is of course a straw man argument. Atheism has at it's heart a deep, experiential mystery. We do not have stock "one size fits all" type answers. Science is the best we can do, and it really is pretty frail. Carl Sagan and Robert G Ingersoll, as examples, both realised this. Please take time to read the following article by Ed Weathers. Although dated, it really is the best defense of non-belief in general I have come across:

http://adoptanatheist.blogspot.com/search/label/AAA%20This%20is%20a%20MUST%20READ.

Atheism in this sense is very humble, and religion extremely bigoted. I wish we could get away from this game of "one upmanship" that is so characteristic of the debate in the UK.Exzanianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15224569439945248911noreply@blogger.com
